We were founded in 2008 by pre-eminent psychiatrists and psychologists and treat 6,000+ patients per year. With the critical need for mental health care and eating disorder treatment, we’re looking for passionate and qualified professionals who will live out our mission to help save the lives of our patients.

What you’ll be doing:

This is by no means a “behind-the-scenes" role, as your work will help the company serve patients daily in a multitude of ways.

The Regional Director of Nursing (RND) is a key leadership position responsible for the effective implementation and ongoing success of nursing operations across multiple facilities within a designated region. This role requires an experienced nursing leader with expertise in treating eating disorders with complex medical and psychiatric comorbidities and in treating mood and anxiety disorders in higher level of care treatment environments. The RND works closely with medical, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure that nursing services are consistent, effective, and aligned with ERCPL’s mission of clinical quality. RNDs report directly to the company’s Chief Nursing Officer and work closely with their region’s Regional Vice President to manage the financial and operational goals of the region while maintaining ERCPL’s exacting standards of care. The RND has overall clinical responsibility for the region’s nursing outcomes, nursing practice, nursing, Behavioral Health Technician engagement and training, and implementation of the organization’s nursing strategic plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Oversight: Provides strategic leadership, direction and supervision to nursing directors and other leaders of nursing teams across the region, ensuring that all nursing and behavioral health technician (BHT) practices align with the ERCPL practice and standards.
    • Oversees the delivery of nursing services, ensuring that the nursing care provided is safe, appropriate, consistent, effective, and tailored to meet the individual needs of patients.
    • Ensures that all nursing teammates are provided appropriate onboarding, training, supervision, and mentorship, fostering professional development. •Acts as a resource for complex cases, providing clinical guidance and support to teammates working with challenging clinical situations.
    • Ensures that all nursing department teammates are equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties.
    • Serves as a coach and mentor for the site level Directors of Nursing.
    • Short-term coverage for vacant Director of Nursing positions in facility operations when needed.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement: Leads initiatives to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of nursing care across the region.
    • Conducts regular audits of nursing documentation, treatment plans and therapeutic outcomes to ensure compliance with company goals, company policies and accreditation standards.
    • Review incident reports, identifies trends and follow up through established processes.
    • Oversees infection prevention and control program for each facility in designated region, including ensuring the administration of an annual flu shot to patients and staff.
    • Serves as the Regional Infection Prevention Officer and completes initial and annual infection control training.
    • Monitors weekly data and present trends to the Chief Clinical and Quality Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and the Medical Executive Committee.
    • Develops and implements plans based on data-driven insights, patient experience surveys and emerging trends in nursing practice.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Serves as the region’s most impactful nursing related subject matter expert.
    • Develops and maintains nursing educational resources for teammates, patients, and families.
    • Collaborates with other regional directors and corporate leaders to develop and refine nursing care programs tailored to the needs of patients with eating disorders, incorporating latest research and best practices.
    • Ensures the integration of trauma informed care, culturally sensitive approaches, and other integrative treatment models into standard practice.
    • Promotes the use of innovative nursing care techniques and modalities to enhance treatment effectiveness and patient/ family engagement.
  • Regulatory Compliance, Patient Advocacy and Utilization Review: Ensures that all nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations, licensing and accreditation standards and payor agreements.
    • Identifies and addresses potential clinical risks, implements corrective actions as needed to maintain a safe and ethical treatment environment.
    • Serves as a regional point of contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and compliance with all legal and UR requirements.
    • Consults with other members of ERC leadership on the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures for the nutrition department.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Maintains an authentic and trusted leadership reputation.
    • Engages with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, referring professionals, community partners and regulatory agencies, to promote transparency and collaboration in service delivery.
    • Participates in family education and support activities, engaging with families and other caregivers to offer education and guidance on how to support loved ones in adhering to their care plans.
    • Represents the company at professional conferences, workshops and marketing events, modeling and advocating for high standards in behavioral health nutrition care. Develops and maintains clinical resources for community providers.
    • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including medical directors, nutrition leaders, clinical directors, operational leaders, and administrative staff to ensure a consistent, compassionate multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
    • Develops and maintains positive, productive relationships with community providers to expand a referral base.
  • Resource Management: Working with the Regional Vice President and corporate leadership, the RND shares oversight for the allocation of nursing resources across the region, including staffing, teammate training, and patient/ family education materials to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
    • Works closely with the people team to recruit, onboard and retain top nursing talent within the region.
    • Actively drives actions to improve teammates’ experiences.
    • Interfaces with pharmacy, laboratory and other vendors on contracts, services, etc.
    • Maximizes growth and profitability, while achieving positive patient outcomes and teammate goals.
    • Optimizes targeted capacity utilization and efficiency goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Business (MBA) preferred.
  • Must have and maintain active state Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Maintain BLS certification.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse nursing team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices related to eating disorders including nutritional rehabilitation, involuntary treatments, medical monitoring, and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage clinicians, patients, and families.
  • Proficiency in healthcare technology including Electronic Medical Records and Data management tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Compensation starting range for the Regional Director of Nursing - Colorado role is $130,000 to $175,000 plus bonus potential. Ranges are based upon market expectations and are dependent upon candidate experience.
