Legal & Compliance Operations Manager

What you'll be doing:

The Legal & Compliance Operations Manager provides direct support to the Chief Legal Officer and Compliance team by managing critical legal operations, coordinating strategic initiatives, and facilitating effective collaboration across executive leadership. This role serves as a central point of contact for the Legal, Compliance, & Risk team, combining operational excellence, project management, and legal support responsibilities. The manager ensures that legal, compliance, and business priorities are executed efficiently and with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Executive & Strategic Support

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Chief Legal Officer and executive leadership, ensuring timely coordination and follow-through on priorities.
  • Anticipate needs, research issues, and provide recommendations to support decision-making on matters of significance to the company

Legal Operations & Project Management

  • Coordinate and oversee legal, compliance, and risk department projects, including initiatives, contract management processes, and policy rollouts.
  • Develop, streamline, and maintain workflows, systems, and reporting to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team.
  • Track progress on key legal, compliance, and business initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and leadership is informed.

Contract Review & Legal Support

  • Review, draft, and edit contracts, agreements, and other legal documents under the supervision of the Chief Legal Officer.
  • Support compliance and risk management reviews, policy updates, and corporate governance processes.
  • Maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and tracking systems to support business operations.

  • Act as a bridge between the legal, compliance, and risk team and other business units, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare materials, presentations, and summaries for executive meetings, board updates, and company-wide initiatives.
  • Manage confidential information with discretion and ensure alignment with company values and regulatory requirements.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Legal Studies, Political Science, or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3+ years of professional experience supporting executives, managing legal operations, or providing paralegal/legal project support
  • Experience working in a corporate legal department, law firm, or executive operations role
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and critical thinking in decision-making
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting professional documents and correspondence
  • Proven ability to work with executive leadership and influence outcomes across departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management, compliance processes, and corporate governance
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Compensation for the Legal & Compliance Operations Manager position is $85,000-$115,000 based upon candidate experience and market expectations.
