Primary Care Physician

Department: Primary Care Physician
Location: Houston, TX

Job Summary:
We are actively seeking a committed and empathetic Family Practice, Pediatrician, or Med-Peds Physician to join our dedicated team at ERC Pathlight in Houston, TX. As an integral part of our leading mental health care system, you will play a crucial role in delivering medical care to patients enrolled in our behavioral health programs. Your key responsibilities will encompass diagnosing illnesses, prescribing and administering treatments, as well as ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests. This full-time position requires a Monday through Friday schedule, with remote on-call duties. The on-call responsibilities involve providing telephone call from home and cover all patient age groups (from children to adults), with calls received exclusively from one of our on-floor nurses.

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of a family medicine or pediatric or med-peds residency program from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or board eligibility in the appropriate specialty.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment or state of assignment.
- Demonstrated compassion and empathy for patients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn various software platforms, including Electronic Medical Record Systems.
- No prior experience in eating disorders necessary; training will be provided onsite.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the medical aspects of a patient's care needs.
- Provide cross-coverage support for the primary care group as needed, delivering medical care to patients.
- Serve as a teacher for trainees seeking clinical experience.
- Focus on superior patient care by practicing evidence-based, high-quality medicine.
- Collaborate with staff, other physicians, and management to improve service and patient care.
- Communicate clinical information clearly and in a timely manner.
- Take ownership and provide leadership to improve outcomes, quality, and program efficiency.
- Promote positive customer relationships with employees, physicians, patients, and visitors.
- Adhere to the mission and values of ERC.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and cultural sensitivity.

Education and Experience Desired:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of a family medicine or pediatric or med/peds residency program from an accredited medical school.
- Board eligibility in the appropriate specialty (board certification preferred).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment or state of assignment.
- Has met clinical competency standards.
